Amy Jo Mitrani, MA, MSed

The goal is to support my clients towards spiritual and emotional health, learning to navigate your unique life through relying on inner guidance with confidence and joy. My work is based on my strong foundation as an individual, couples and family therapist. I have a master’s degree in counseling from the University of Pennsylvania and post graduate work in family systems. I have spent several decades working in the private and public sector with individuals from a range of ages and diverse backgrounds. The structure of our time together will differ according to each person’s needs. My practice incorporates the best of traditional counseling enriched by my study of many metaphysical philosophies and trainings.

Early exposure to alternate healing modalities through my employment at several holistic education centers such as Omega Institute and the Wainwright house, opened my mind to the power of techniques beyond traditional psychotherapy. This journey led me to become an ordained interfaith minister. I have created and performed many formal and informal ceremonies. This may take form as premarital counseling and wedding ceremonies, house clearings and blessings, or individualized ritual. I have found that my intuitive ability to connect with Spirit has grown stronger along the journey. I utilize this sensibility in all aspects of my work. The opportunity to integrate these offerings and skills into my practice only serves to strengthen the work and opens access to your connection with higher self. I utilize these
metaphysical techniques according to the comfort level of the client and the appropriate application.

In short, through traditional counseling techniques, deep listening (being seen), open heartedness (compassion and self-forgiveness), and gentle questioning (encouraging self-knowledge), and well-placed humor, we will lead you to your best self and the opportunity to live fully in your body from your roots to your top of your tree and beyond.
